“A studio move between LA and SF typically runs $3,500–$3,900. A one-bedroom runs $3,700–$4,100. A three-bedroom with stairs on both ends runs $6,200–$6,900. Every move is different, and depending on how many items you have and how much help you require numbers can change. However by using the calculator above with information on your specific move, you can get an accurate quote before even having to make a phone call.”
“We run the LA–SF corridor every week with the same local crew, so these numbers come from real jobs we've quoted and moved, not industry guesswork. Below is the full breakdown of what drives the price up or down, and what you're actually paying for.”
STairs, Elevators, and Parking
Every flight of stairs adds real time on both ends of the move. A building elevator adds time too — waiting for it, holding it, running multiple trips. If the truck can't park close to your door, that's extra carrying distance our crew has to walk on every single item. None of this is a surprise fee on move day; it's built into your estimate upfront because you tell us about your building before we quote you.
Estimated Price vs Actual Price
What actually changes your price?
Two moves of the same size can cost very differently once you factor in access and services. Here's what moves the number, in order of impact:
How Much You’re Moving
"Average amount" for a 1-bedroom and "heavily furnished" for the same 1-bedroom are two different jobs. More volume means more loading and unloading time, which is the biggest lever in any moving quote — long-distance or local.
Packing HElp
Self-packing keeps costs lowest. From there it scales: a few fragile items wrapped for you, partial packing, most of the home, or full-service packing where we pack everything. Packing materials, boxes, tape, wrap, mattress bags are a separate line item, priced by home size, and only added if you want us to supply them.
Large or Akward Items
Pianos, safes, gym equipment, oversized sectionals, and large appliances all take extra time and sometimes extra hands to move safely. Pianos and safes in particular get a phone call before booking, just to confirm access and weight so nothing gets held up on move day.
Timing
Standard scheduling is the most affordable. Same-day or expedited delivery on the SF side adds a flat fee, since it means prioritizing your load on our route that week.
WHY AN INSTANT ESTIMATE INSTEAD OF JUST CALLING?
You can call Andrew directly and get a quote over the phone plenty of people do. This tool exists for the people who want a number before they're ready for that conversation. It's built from the same pricing logic our team actually quotes with, so what you see above isn't a teaser number designed to get you on the phone it's genuinely close to what you'd be quoted live.

1

traffic, stairs, delays, or unexpected issues
your labor cost will never go over that agreed limit.
What we quote is the maximum you pay.

Frequently Asked Questions
-
It's built from the same pricing structure our team quotes calls with, so for common moves studios, 1-bedrooms, 2-bedrooms it's typically within a few hundred dollars of what you'd hear on the phone. Larger and commercial moves get a wider range and a phone confirmation before booking.
-
Labor for loading and unloading, the long-distance drive fee, and packing materials if you request them. It does not include add-ons you haven't told us about yet, like a last-minute storage need or items you decide to add after booking.
-
Yes, and the calculator already accounts for it that's why it asks about stairs, elevators, and parking access separately for pickup and delivery. It's built into your estimate from the start, not added as a surprise on move day.
-
Heavy and oversized items add labor time, which the estimate reflects. Pianos, safes, and gym equipment specifically get flagged for a quick phone confirmation before booking, just to make sure we bring the right equipment and hands.
-
It won't, once you've had your walkthrough. Before your move, we agree on a do-not-exceed labor cap in writing. Traffic, delays, and surprises are on us, not you the cap is the maximum, not a starting point.
-
No. You'll see your price range right after answering the questions. Contact info is only needed if you want that estimate sent to you or want to move forward with booking.
-
The drive fee itself is flat and the same both directions. What changes the total is delivery speed same-day or expedited delivery adds a fee since it means prioritizing your load on that week's route.
-
Local moves are usually priced hourly with no separate travel fee. A move over roughly 100 miles like LA to SF adds a flat long-distance drive fee on top of loading and unloading labor, since the crew and truck are committed to a multi-hour direct route rather than several short local jobs in a day.
